Implantology

The advent of implant techniques represented a big step forward in the rehabilitation of the oral cavity in situations in which, previously, only removable prostheses could have been used.

Implantology
How does it works?

The implant technique consists in inserting components in the mouth, usually in titanium, which replace the roots of the extracted teeth; in this way, after a period of integration, in which the implant integrates with the alveolar bone, the crown of the previously extracted tooth can be replaced by screwing it into the artificial root.

While this is apparently a simple procedure, in reality it is necessary to have one
precise knowledge of the anatomy of the oral cavity, integrated with a deep knowledge of the product categories of the various types of implants on the market in order to choose the most suitable one for the individual rehabilitation.

When the crown is inserted it can be cemented or screwed.
Once the implants have been inserted is it? Essential? optimal maintenance through constant and daily home hygiene and periodic professional hygiene.

What risks do you run with
Implantology

Today this technique presents very low risks, as long as it is performed by expert hands. In this
so also the rejection of the implant is a concept that must be interpreted well, in fact in general the rejection in the medical field represents an immune response of our organism towards a material that is inserted and that contains protein agents not recognized by? host organism. In reality, all implants today are made of titanium, as it is inert material from a biological point of view, sterilized and therefore on their surface there are no protein agents that can determine the immune response of the host.

So why are some implants expelled? Some implants are expelled because osseointegration does not take place, which can happen for various reasons, for example due to a difficulty in creating primary stabilization due to the morphology and characteristics of the bone, or because bacterial contamination of the implant site occurs ( let's not forget that we work in a field where saliva is present) or for various other reasons.
